I’m a new pet parent and trying to pick the best pet insurance, but my brain is fried! I’ve looked at so many companies like Spot, Fetch, Trupanion, and Lemonade. Everyone online seems to have a strong opinion, good or bad, and it’s hard to know who to trust. I don’t want to end up paying for a policy that won’t actually help if my furry friend gets sick or hurt. So, fellow pet owners, which pet insurance do you use and can you share any real numbers about your experience with claims and costs?

I went with Lemonade because it seemed like a good option, especially with their app. When my dog had a tumor removed, the cost was about $650, and my plan started at around $32 a month. Now that my dog is 10, I’m paying about $50 a month.

After doing a lot of research, I ended up using a website to compare policies, got multiple quotes, and went with the cheapest option for my two pets. It seemed to have the best mix of policy features and coverage while still being affordable for my budget.

I chose Lemonade pet insurance because the price seemed reasonable, their website was professional, and the testimonials were great. The sign-up process was super easy through their user-friendly app. I’ve been with them for three years now, and even after submitting claims, I receive a personal email from the advocate reviewing my claim.

Working in an ER/specialty veterinary clinic, I’ve seen Trupanion cover some massive bills. For example, we had a patient who needed neurosurgery that cost around $13,000, and Trupanion covered most of it, with the owner only paying a couple of hundred dollars.
